Tour Overview

Mystical and spiritual, chaotic and confronting, India overflows with riches.

Traverse India on this comprehensive journey of discovery that takes you from the Golden Triangle capitals of Delhi, Jaipur and Agra in the north, the Holy City of Varanasi in the east, to the frescoed fortress of the 'Tiger of Mysore' and the peaceful backwaters of Kerala in the south.

We learn about grand fortresses, magnificent temples and mosques and experience the incomparably beautiful Taj Mahal. In Varanasi, Hinduism’s holiest city, we attend a traditional aarti offering ceremony as we cruise along the Ganges.

We explore the tranquillity of the emerald Kerala backwaters on a chartered traditional houseboat. In Cochin, we visit the 'Dutch Palace', built in the 1550s and later presented to the Rajas of Cochin. We also explore the old world charm of Mattancherry and Fort Kochi.

To be advised

Moderate

This program includes placeswhich can only be explored on foot and where walking tours may be a little longer and not always on the flat. Accommodation may have some stairs and or have some rooms which may involve some walking to access.
All our programs naturally involve some walking in order to discover better the places visited and, although we arrange porterage where this is available, participants are expected to be able to handle their own bags. Our program leaders will always try to make as much of the program as possible available for those who find walking longer distances, uphill or down steps difficult but, in same places, this cannot always be avoided.
If you have any concerns at all about your level of fitness, please do not hesitate to talk to us and discuss further with the experts who know the particular demands of each program.
