Dear Educational Travellers and Friends,
We extend our warmest Christmas wishes to you, your family and friends, and sincerely hope for a happier and healthier New Year in 2021.
As 2020 draws to a close, we reflect on the challenges presented to us all. Our thoughts are particularly with those who have suffered hardship or loss this year. The unshakable strength of our healthcare heroes and essential workers has shone through brightly during this extremely difficult year. It is probably true to say that, during the course of the year, most of us have had to make sacrifices and to change the way we live our daily lives in one way or another.
We are optimistic that 2021 will be a year of recovery for our world, thanks to the amazing work and effort on the part of scientists and researchers in developing viable vaccines and improving treatments within an extraordinarily short period of time. Undoubtedly there will be bumps along the road to recovery but we really hope that these new vaccines and the continuing co-operation within the scientific community may hasten our return to some form of ‘normality’ during the course of the year ahead.
When it is safe to travel, we can’t wait to see you on a Golden Compass Tour, so that we can once more enjoy the friendship of our fellow travellers, together with the sheer joy of exploring our beautiful planet.
In the meantime, have a very Merry Christmas and let’s all look forward to a much brighter New Year!
Stay safe and well.
Sincerely,
Kerry, Alison and the best team of Program Leaders - Andrea, Bruce, David, Dianne, George, Hugh, Jim, Kerry, Louise, Mark, Ngaire, Peter, Robyn and Ruth
