Tour Overview

Deeply significant to Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths, this ancient land is imbued with a beguiling mix of cultural influences. Our journey takes us from forward-facing Tel Aviv with its elegant palm-lined Bauhaus architecture to the fragrant alleyways of Jerusalem's Old City, thronging with pilgrims winding their way between holy sites.

In Israel's north, we watch the balmy waters of the Mediterranean lap at Roman and Crusader remains and marvel at beautiful churches commemorating Christ's miracles around the tranquil Sea of Galilee, while it is the natural wonders of the dramatic Negev Desert and the Dead Sea which draw us to the Israel's south. The welcoming cities of the West Bank provide us with an insight into Palestinian culture, while our time in Jordan allows us to be immersed in the vibrant city of Amman and to experience an ancient world at the breath-taking ruins of rose-coloured Petra.

Our fascinating 18-night program comprehensively explores the highlights of ancient and modern Israel along with the intriguing Palestinian West Bank and the greatly underestimated but truly memorable sights of Jordan. Of course, we learn about the history and culture of these exciting countries, but we also meet the friendly local people and sample their inviting cuisine.

Moderate

This program includes places which can only be explored on foot and where walking tours may be a little longer and not always on the flat. Accommodation may have some stairs and or have some rooms which may involve some walking to access.
All our programs naturally involve some walking in order to discover better the places visited and, although we arrange porterage where this is available, participants are expected to be able to handle their own bags. Our program leaders will always try to make as much of the program as possible available for those who find walking longer distances, uphill or down steps difficult but, in same places, this cannot always be avoided.
If you have any concerns at all about your level of fitness, please do not hesitate to talk to us and discuss further with the experts who know the particular demands of each program.
